ChromaWay Joins Coding4Integrity African Youth Anti-Corruption Hackathon
STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – 28/09, 2021 - Today, we are pleased to announce that ChromaWay has agreed to join Coding4Integrity to join the Coding4Integrity African Youth Anti-Corruption Hackathon. The African Youth Anti-Corruption Hackathon is a four-week virtual technology competition held by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in collaboration with African countries' public and private sector organizations. As part of the partnership, ChromaWay will host workshops introducing blockchain technology and offering mentorship to the participants.
The purpose of the hackathon is to provide young African developers the opportunity to realize their ideas on how to combat corruption in Africa by using various technologies such as ICTs and Blockchain. The winning teams will develop their solutions in collaboration with the hackathon's public sector partners, who are looking to enhance the usage of technical solutions as part of their domestic anti-corruption efforts.
About The Code4Integrity African Youth Anti-Corruption Hackathon
The Code4Integrity African Youth Anti-Corruption Hackathon will officially begin on October 4th, 2021, and the deadline for teams to submit solutions is October 27th. The hackathon aims to encourage the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) to prevent and combat corruption in Africa and provide young developers with the means to develop use cases and potential businesses with the help of mentors and workshops from events partners.
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime is looking for the most talented coders to inspire us with their ideas on how tech can help fight corruption and advance peace, justice, and strong institutions!
The hackathon invites all applicants between the ages of 18 - 35 with basic coding skills and is citizens of one of the following countries, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa. Code4Integrity will match and group teams up to 4 complimenting members. The competition is divided into three tracks, and each team will work in one of the following tracks: Blockchain Dapp developing, AI developing, and Web 2.0 developing. The winners will be invited to the Conference of State Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (COSP) to present their solution in front of anti-corruption experts from more than 180 countries. The COSP serves as an excellent opportunity for the teams to seek further support and collaboration with government officials worldwide.
